The other thing is that there doesn't seem to be much if any tuning parts for cc four stroke engines in scooters, as they are often bored or stroked cc based designs, so have little potential left for increasing capacity or power. If you wanted to tune a scooter with a big bore kit etc, it might be better to upgrade to a cc machine, as they often have more tuning options than cc models.

I do get where your coming from with wanting to tune your machine just to see what it could do, especially if budget and daily dependability are not really an issue. Mainly because apart from it being a tad unreliable after, I couldn't get the ideal parts for it, and I was disappointed with it after tuning as the gains didn't justify the expense. Only tune a bike either for racing, or if your already very happy with the performance as std.

I do get your point, but someone might choose to tune a scooter or small capacity bike for lots of reasons. A lowly tuned commuter or all rounder engine might have much more that could be improved or changed to increase performance. The Yamaha R makes around A cc big bore kit, with cam, ported head, piggyback ECU, exhaust, big bore throttle body etc etc could increase that to say bhp.

Not sure I would bother with the carb as its doesn't give a massive increase in power and will make a sizeable dent in your mpg. It may benifit from some different rolllers, as long as you take it to somewhere that knows what there doing then they should be able to sort that for you.

From a mechanical point of view, my advice is by all means buy the kit, but don't fit it until you have the right carb and jet to work with it else you may damage the engine badly. Also look at the transmission side of things, you may need different roller weights and clutch springs to suit the increased power level as well as a gear-up kit. The kit makers should be able to advise you on this. Also, don't forget the brakes and suspension - if you're going to be going faster you want to be able to corner and stop faster too.
